COPPERBELT Agricultural and Commercial Show Society chairperson London Mwafulilwa says there is a need to address issues hindering growth in the mining and its value chain opportunities.
Speaking in Kitwe, Mr. Mwafulwa said this could only be achieved by exploring untapped opportunities by spurring economic diversification through private sector development in key sectors such as agriculture.
He observed that the Government has for the last two years been working tirelessly to unlock investment in the mining industry.
The Show Society chairperson said it was good to see that great strides had been made in finding quality partners in the mining sector.
He expressed confidence that this will spur growth in the industry and the country as a whole.
“The Government has for the last few years been working tirelessly to unlock investment in mining and agriculture and it is exciting to see that great strides have been made.
“On the other hand in the last few years, the Show Society has worked tirelessly to turn around the show by removing the unfair component of the show and increasing the business portfolio of the expo. This rebranding has been done to make the show become the preferred business knowledge exchange platform for all sectors of our economy,” Mr. Mwafulwa said.
The Copperbelt Agriculture Mining Industrial Networking Enterprises opened its doors to the public on Tuesday May 28, 2024 at the Kitwe Show grounds.
