THE Luapula Chamber of Commerce, trade and industry has commended the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) for its effort in linking foreign investors to the local people in the province in an effort to establish joint venture partnerships.
Chamber president Emmanuel Musanje told The Scoop that proper partnerships between foreign and Zambian investors especially those in Luapula remained crucial towards attaining development.
Mr. Musanje said that ZDA had been helping in promoting partnerships among local SMEs with the foreign investors which he said was improving many businesses.
He said that partnerships were critical in helping to gain access to new markets and channels, share intellectual property or infrastructure, or reduce business risks.
“ZDA has been building capacity among entrepreneurs and linking the foreign investors to the locals to create partnerships meant to equip entrepreneurs with the right skill and financial capital to use in their businesses, ” Mr. Musanje said.
He said that collaborations with ZDA were helping in promoting growth and development of the economy through the formulation and implementation of appropriate policies to attract investment, increase trade, as well as develop and expand the provincial industrial base.
He said that creating an enabling environment for increased domestic and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), trade and industrial development, as well as providing the much-needed financial mentorship remained important.
He said that through mentorship and training, entrepreneurs were capable of using new skills in business to better enrich their lives and contribute to national development.
