The Kasama Correctional Facility commonly known as Milima has commended Unifi Kasama for contributing towards the improvement of sanitation at the facility.
Officer in Charge, Abraham Lupindula, notes that the donation of paints and toilet pans by Unifi to the facility will help to improve sanitation at the facility.
Mr. Lupindula, adds that the donation will go a long way to improve the standards of sanitation and reduce diarrhoea diseases among the inmates.
He further stated that the donation has come at the right time and is responding to the government’s call to improve the welfare of inmates.
Mr. Lupindula says the welfare of inmates is everyone’s responsibility and Unifi has demonstrated that it cares for the welfare of inmates.
He said this when he received 8 by 20 liters buckets of paints and 13 toilet squat pans which were donated by Unifi.
And Unifi Kasama Branch Manager, NkhumbwizyaTembo, said the company has a mandate to give back to the community as part of its corporate social responsibility.
MsTembo said her institution decided to donate to the facility to help improve the welfare of inmates.
She added that her company will continue to support government in improving the welfare of the people.
And Marketing Officer, ChotaMwila said issues of sanitation is among the top priorities of her Company’s agenda.
She said this will help to reduce disease burden and ensure that its clientele is healthy.
