PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says he has learnt with profound sadness and heartfelt sorrow, the passing of Wesley Chibambo, fondly known as Dandy Crazy.
Mr. Chibambo, who has been admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka following an accident involving three vehicles on the Great North Road near Kapiri-Mposhi two days ago, succumbed to injuries in the wee hours of this morning.
Yesterday, he underwent an emergency operation and remained in a critical condition despite various treatment interventions employed by the health staff, leading to his death at 01:42 hours.
And commenting on his death, President Hichilema sent a message of condolences to the family of Mr. Chibambo and the public as they mourn their loved one.
“We extend our deepest condolences to his family and to all the citizens who cherished and supported this extraordinary artist. His music and charisma touched lives far and wide, crossing all boundaries and bringing people together.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and countless fans during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace. We also remember the four others who perished in the tragic accident and stand in solidarity with their families during this moment of grief,” President Hichilema said.
