KNOWN for hit songs like comfortable, kembo mu suit, let it be, pangako round and akanshita (feat. Drimz) renowned Zambian artist, producer, entertainer and prolific songwriter, Samuel Miyoba, best known in the entertainment world as Smack Jay, has successfully unleashed his much-anticipated song titled “beyond skin”
The beyond skin song was produced at Punchline Studios in collaboration with a UK, Northern Ireland based non-profit organisation called Beyond Skin and immediately attracted heavy airplay attention on major streaming platforms.
Smack Jay joined forces with another renowned beat-maker Wongani Hara, known in the music industry as Woskii to ensure sure the beyond skin song was one to be on people’s playlists.
According to, Smack Jay, the beyond skin song talks about the importance of knowing that despite the differences in skin colour, gender, even languages, human beings are still one people.
“What inspired me to come up with this song is the current effect of cost-of-living worldwide that has been caused by wars in other countries. The chain of supply globally has been affected. It is generally a song that says, as human beings we are one.
We are connected beyond skin. nationality, skin colour and languages. These things do not make any other human to be less human. We are all equal and should learn to resolve our issues with love,” she said.
Smack Jay added that the song was an introduction to the many projects that he has lined up for the year 2024, and that people should look out for more hit songs, collaborations and visuals from him.
Smack Jay also disclosed that he had been involved in climate activism and advocating against children’s rights.
“I have been in climate change activism since 2021. I learned through research and observations how climate change was affecting animals at the time. My first campaign was reduction on tree cutting and emissions with Namene Ltd, a solar products company that has been campaigning and supplying solar products like solar chargers and solar lamps, etc.
For me, music is a whole different language understood by both the young and old. And really, this has added a very positive result on people. I have had people that actually follow me for questions and answers on children’s rights. My point of discussion has always been based on the children’s code act in action by the government,” he said.
He said his advocacy on children’s rights and ending child marriage had been amazing.
“I have seen situations where children have been abused emotionally, physically, sexually etc. And I learned not to keep quiet over such matters. In the year 2024 my fans should expect more music that brings meaning in people’s life and of course more engagements in social related Issues,” he said.
