RIDING on the backbone of their motto “Except we care, they perish” Roberto Saves Dreams Foundation (RSDF) a faith-based, non-governmental organisation, has been a driving force of hope and success in the lives of many children, women and the vulnerable through effective community mobilization, outreaches, sanitation and hygiene, demand creation for health facility services uptake for pregnant women and women of reproductive age especially the first-time mothers (FTMs).

The Scoop Lifestyle Reporter recently interviewed Dr. Roberto Chiteta, a foundation ambassador and recognized leader in global issues involving health, education, and economic leadership of vulnerable children in Africa to learn everything about the RSDF, and their plans for 2024.

With over 15 years of experience building lives both local and abroad, Dr. Chiteta said, RSDF has been on a mission to bring positive change to all.

“So far, we have represented a diverse roster that includes over 29,000 community members reached through one-on-one/one-on-group outreach program, over 3000 pregnant women referred/escorted to health facilities for deliveries, 24 host Basic Emergency Maternal Obstetric and Newborn Care (BEmONC) wards assisted to generate local funds to support emergency transport services in their communities, to mention but a few,” he said.

Asked who really Dr. RobertChiteta is, he responded, “Dr. Chiteta, is the founder and Chief Relationship Officer at GIC Capital Corp, an academician, visionary and youthful entrepreneur domicile in Nova CidadeKilamba, Luanda, Angola. A holder of a degree in Business Administration from the UK, a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from China and a PHD in Criminal Justice from Washington – United States of America.

He holds Angola-Zambia duo citizenship and is the Ambassador of RSDF and also serves as Chief Relationship Officer at GIC Capital Corp. He is also a competent project manager and a certified CISCO Licentiate from the University of Zambia whose skill-set encompasses start-ups, business development, marketing business strategy, business planning, finance, entrepreneurship, new business development and customer relationship management among others”

Fuelled by love and vision of creating opportunities for individuals and community empowerment that have helped cement the foundation’s status as one of the most celebrated, RSDF, according to Dr. Chiteta and their strategic plan, aims to find equity partners, sponsors and qualified staff from both Zambia and Angola to tap into local talent of entrepreneurs.

“We aim to groom them to become professional entrepreneurs who will become inspirational in the communities they came from. Consequently, become drivers for other endeavors all aimed to mutually benefit the company, local farmers, entrepreneurs as well as their communities

It is our mission to achieve sustainable economic empowerment, better healthcare, good governance and gender mainstreaming through capacity building initiatives and advocacy by deploying the appropriate (right) strategic approaches for the development of our communities as we push for equal sustainable economic growth and quality health care accessible by all”

“For me I believe there is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up. You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you. A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal. Be the blessing that others need. Be the hand that lifts others up. You will never regret being good to others during their time of need,” added Dr. Chiteta
