MWAMBA HALLUCINATING – SIMUUWE

EMMANUEL Mwamba is hallucinating as usual by spreading lies on imaginary debts that he alleges that the current Government has contracted which he cannot substantiate, Mark Simuuwe has said.
Commenting on Mr. Mwamba ‘s claims that the UPND Government borrowed over US$ 300 million and increased its fuel debt to US$ 800 million, Mr. Simuuwe said Mr. Mwamba was a pathological liar who thrived on falsehood in an attempt to push the PF’s comeback agenda.
He Mr. Mwamba was good at spreading fake propaganda and should not be taken seriously adding that the current situation did not allow Zambia the luxury of borrowing as insinuated by the PF because of the economic malaise they left the country in which the UPND Government had fought hard by negotiating the debt restructuring.
He said grants that were being given to Zambia were facilitated after the country met specific benchmarks from the creditors, citing the recent grant that was given by World Bank grants as one of them.
“The opposition have nothing to talk about. Few days ago, Edgar Lungu had the privilege to talk to the Zambians and said nothing because he has nothing to say even when he and his UKA team have been pushing for rallies. On the other hand, Mr. Mwamba is talking about a non-issue because he has realised that the only way the PF can have some semblance of image, is by spreading lies.
“The problem is that they have realized that UPND has a lot, including cleaning the mess they left and so, the only issue they can bring about is the issue of fuel and load shedding where we have some challenges and still have to lie about the country’s debt situation. Mr. Mwamba cannot even substantiate his claims because he has no truth,” Mr. Simuuwe said.
He described Mr. Mwamba as a noise maker who was in the habit of talking about issues without evidence and full details and challenged him to tell the nation which country or creditors that Zambia had borrowed from under the current Government and who signed for such debts.
He explained that the Government had a laid down 2022 to 2026 debt strategy which was aimed at dismantling domestic debt and that so far, the Government had managed to clear about 75% of what was owed to domestic creditors.
He advised Mr. Mwamba not to justify his ignorance by misleading Zambians.
