GOVERNANCE Expert Sikwiindi Situla says a lot must be done in terms of quality control in the country.
Mainde Simataa recently expressed concern that the desks being made under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) have poor quality.
Mr. Simataa regretted that the desks got worn-out at a very short period of time, a situation he described as unfortunate.
And speaking in an interview, Mr. Situla said consumer rights arrangements in the country must speak to the need to increase quality.
“We have to do a lot in terms of quality control. We need to have quality control over those desks. Some desks don’t qualify to be desks at all,” he said.
He said there was a need to prescribe good material for the desks and that everyone making the desks must speak to the quality that had been prescribed.
He said some of the desks were very light and could not stand for a long time hat CDF was work in progress and the country must speak to issues that required fine-tuning
“The quality that has been prescribed must be reviewed. In my view the desks are too light,” he said.
