THE Government of Ukraine has offered to build a grain distribution hub in Zambia to service the region.
Commenting after engaging in a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, at State House today, President Hakainde Hichilema said he was grateful with Ukraine’s intention to put up a grain distribution hub
“We appreciate Ukraine’s intention to establish Zambia as a regional grain distribution hub, leveraging our strategic location, surrounded by nine neighboring countries that will be served by the Lobito and Tazara Corridors,” President Hichilema said.
President Hichilema also said Zambia remained committed to supporting a comprehensive and lasting peace in Ukraine through dialogue.
“Our discussions focused on strengthening the bilateral relations between our nations, which have been steadfast since 1993, and addressing the devastating Russia-Ukraine War that has caused immense human suffering and global economic upheaval,” he said.
