PETAUKE Central Member of Parliament Emmanuel Banda has assured the electorate that the road network in the province will be worked on this year as concerns have deepened that business has negatively been affected in most areas.
In an interview with The Scoop, Mr. Banda explained that with or without the Government’s direct involvement, the people of Petauke Central will see proper roads, as this will help ease transportation of goods and services.
“Road works had started in my Province but were halted by the Government through the Office of the District Commissioner,” Mr. Banda alleged, adding that developmental projects were done for the benefit of the Zambian people and should not be politicized.
He explained that the Government assigned contractors through the Zambia National Service (ZNS) to work on the roads but nothing had been done to date.
He said that feeder roads in most rural parts of Petauke needed urgent attention as they were in a deplorable state.
He, however, said that his Constituency was well represented by him as he was still lobbying for funds to fix roads, build schools, and health posts.
