Former President Edgar Lungu is either receiving misguided advice or surrounding himself with the wrong advisors, says former Serenje District UPND Chairman and current Central Province Mobilization Committee Member Aubrey Muzaza.
Mr Muzaza said that Mr Lungu’s advisors were failing him and insisted that it was time for him to listen to the counsel of ordinary Zambians who genuinely have his best interests at heart.
He directly challenged those around Lungu to make him understand that his time has passed and that the people of Zambia have moved on.
Mr Muzaza also categorically stated that Mr Lungu should not be deceived into believing he is still popular, as he is merely famous.
He emphasized the clear distinction between being famous and being popular, stressing that anyone can be famous.
According to Mr Muzaza, Mr Lungu, as a former head of state, is no longer a benefit to the nation.
He advised the former president to act as an advisor rather than a mere political cadre and to reconsider his decisions if he values his own well-being.
He said that numerous other capable individuals can lead the country, even after President Hichilema, and emphasized that Zambia has no shortage of potential leaders.
Mr Muzaza alleged that Mr Lungu’s desire to return to power may stem from a need to shield his family from legal repercussions.
