THE introduction of entrepreneurship in the Zambian education curriculum will help many young people in the country to set up enterprises and contribute to economic development, Commerce Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga has said.
Mr. Mulenga told The Scoop that entrepreneurship training in the education curriculum is a step in the right direction in grooming and promoting entrepreneurship skills among the young people.
“Government wants more Zambians to be entrepreneurs and that is why the Ministry of Education is revising and introducing entrepreneurship training in the education curriculum. In the past, we were training students to graduate and look for jobs but now we want to train entrepreneurs who would graduate and set up enterprises for themselves.
“This is the reason the Minister of Education Douglas Siakalima is striving to revise the education curriculum and ensure that entrepreneurship is promoted,” Mr. Mulenga said.
He said that no ministry in the UPND administration was working in isolation and that this was the reason many progressive programs and projects were being championed for the benefit of ordinary citizens.
He said that the Government remained resolute towards easing the cost of doing business and registering enterprises.
