The Zambian Empowerment Hub for Entrepreneurship and Skills Training (ZEHEST) has commended President Hakainde Hichilema for taking decisive action against corruption following the dismissal of a permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health who was implicated in the alleged corrupt practices.
ZEHEST Executive Director Clarence Muzyamba has urged the UPND government to remain committed to its anti-corruption agenda, ensuring that no individual or institution is above the law.
He stated that corruption has deprived Zambia of its resources, hindering the country’s development.
“As a nation, we must unite against this scourge. We demand action now! It’s time for accountability, transparency, and justice to prevail. ZEHEST reaffirms its zero-tolerance stance on corruption, which undermines the nation’s progress,” he said.
Mr. Muzyamba praised President Hakainde Hichilema for this stance, emphasizing that it should serve as a reminder to anyone found engaging in corrupt activities.
He also stated that Transparency International Zambia, the Anti-Corruption Commission, the police, and the Drug Enforcement Commission must receive the necessary support to effectively combat corruption.
