WE’RE IN AN ECONOMIC DILEMMA – GBM

LUSAKA prominent businessman, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba commonly known as GBM has called on the Government to provide a solution on how the economy can be revamped.

Speaking to The Scoop, Mr. Mwamba said things in the country had gone haywire as the Government had failed to find a solution to problems affecting the business community.

He explained that the cost of doing business in the country was too high as there was a lack of money in circulation.

“We do not know the direction the economy is headed to,” Mr. Mwamba lamented, adding that the average consumer will feel the impact greatly as goods were expensive.

He stated that it was critical that the Government provided a lasting solution to the business community as people were burdened with the prevailing high cost of living.

“Prices are going up every day and salaries are stagnant, a situation which needs urgent attention,” he said.

He explained that the Kwacha performance has affected every business as the country was dependent so much on the Dollar.

He reiterated that for business to improve in the country, the Government must rebound the economy.
