MINES and Minerals Development Minister Paul Kabuswe has said that he is not involved in any corrupt activity and is not guilty of any wrongdoing.
Mr. Kabuswe in an interview said that it was unfortunate that people were accusing him of using his young brother, Mutale, as a front in his company AJDCON to get contracts in the mines.
He said his brother was not a child and that he could not be faulted for whatever wrong doing people were talking about because his brother was a full grown man who had his own personal life and that the minister should not be crucified for his brother’s sins.
“My Brother has his own life to live and if he has a contract in the mines, it’s his and is not running it on my behalf,” Mr. Kabuswe said.
He said that it was evident that they were people that were trying to discredit his name which he said was very unfortunate.
He said that there was a ploy by some individuals who were trying to taint his image but that this would not work because he was an honest person.
“What I can tell you is that there is a lot of malice going on and people should not believe everything they hear because it is not true,” he said.
He charged that people should stop maligning his name because he was an innocent person who followed the law to the latter.
He said people should not judge him based on his brother’s actions because they were two different individuals.
