PROFILE Products, an American Company, is developing a business with technology to control soil erosion in Zambia.
Company Zambia Business Manager Michael Besa explained that the company was in Zambia to offer solutions in establishing vegetation where it could not grow.
Mr. Besa said the company had a concept such as hydro-seeding a process where seed and any combination of fertilizer, lime, bio stimulants, moisture and other additives were mixed with water and dry compressed hydro-seed mulch.
He said this form a product that replaced top soil in a situation when the soil had been washed away and that the concept retained vegetation in the soil hence preventing soil erosion.
“Lack of modern technology has been a challenge. As a company, we believe Zambia can adopt technology in soil erosion control. Zambia should adopt this technology from us. As an American company, we will also engage local people as contractors,” Mr. Besa said.
He further explained that once Zambia adopted the technology and that it being a land-linked country, would act as ambassador for the company as neighbouring countries would want to access the technology from Zambia.
He said Hydro-seed solutions could save time and money adding that the company also offered free soil testing, product suggestions, and site specific recommendations.
