MUNALI Member of Parliament Mike Mposha has said that he has embarked on developmental projects such as construction of the roads among others in his constituency.
Mr. Mposha in an interview said among the roads in the constituency being worked on was one in the Presidential Housing Initiative (PHI) which connected to Mtendere main market road, Mahatma Ghandi, Mwaiseni road as well as old ZAMBEEF in Chelstone opposite St. Joseph Kamanga Catholic Church.
He said the funds were from Constituency Development Funds (CDF) allocation and that he would ensure that people of Munali benefited from their money through developmental projects.
He said he had been engaging constituents over the developmental projects that were being undertaken in the constituency and that most issues centered on CDF usage, education and waste management in Mtendere ward.
He assured the people of Munali that together with his office, the Government stakeholders would always promote the spirit of hard work and that the CDF projects would seek to further interconnect all the wards in Munali constituency.
“The notable road works include Lubwe road opposite ZNS Chamba valley gate through Mwananshiku farm passing through ZAF Chamba Valley and joining the district road in Chakunkula Ward. This includes selected roads in Kaunda Square Stage II,” Mr. Mposha said.
Mr. Mposha, who is also Water and Sanitation Minister, disclosed that road works in Chakukula Ward would be financed by CDF together with selected roads around Nkoloma stadium linking Chelstone small market and Kamanga compound.
The minister also disclosed that money had been reserved to update the first two community grounds in the constituency.
He said after working on the Kaunda Square community ground and Mahatma Gandhi ground, another set of grounds would be worked on.
“There is too much talent in Munali. This is why there is this motivation to facilitate sports infrastructure development and I am calling upon the community members in the constituency to continue submitting proposed projects for 2024 through Ward Development Committee (WDCs),” he said.
