The Human Rights Commissioner, Panic Chilufya said there is a need to invest in children’s well-being regardless of their background.
Ms. Chilufya disclosed that in communities and for national development in any nation, children are the future and urged parents to nurture children before they take the mantle.
“This will provide a stable and conducive environment where children will grow and realize their full potential despite the diverse background they may come from,” she said.
She added that investing in children should not be limited to education and health but should cover all other areas of children’s lives as enshrined in the Child Code Act of 2022.
She said investing in children will break the poverty cycle in communities.
