UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) National Youth Chairperson Gilbert Liswaniso has denounced the politics of hate speech and character assassination.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Liswaniso stated that the PF’s aversion to progressive talks and their pride in hate speech and hallucinations are well-documented, charging that they were still living in the past.
He said people were no longer interested in politicians that promote anarchy and confusion in the country and that politics should be devoid of hate speech and character assassination.
He observed with regret that the opposition were doing politics to gain political mileage, adding that they do not mean well to the people of Zambia.
“It is shocking that despite losing the 2021 General Elections, the PF are still causing confusion and promoting anarchy. That will not be allowed because President Hakainde Hichilema is a man who always preaches peace and harmony to every citizen,” Mr. Liswaniso said.
He noted that some leaders were hell-bent at causing confusion, which he said would not be allowed because Zambia was a country of laws adding that lately, some opposition leaders were going in public inciting the people in the name of freedom of speech.
He, however, warned that the police will continue ensuring that there was order and sanity in the country.
He stressed that the party would not be swayed by the opposition’s desperate attempts to distract progress.
“The opposition are just trying to do politics. The UPND Government has delivered and is still delivering to ensure that every Zambian in all parts of the country receives development,” said Mr. Liswaniso.
He said there was a need for constructive dialogue and collective efforts to address the challenges rather than perpetuating falsehoods and divisive rhetoric.
And Mr Liswaniso believed that the Government had delivered to people’s expectations.
According to Mr Liswaniso, the 2026 General Elections were going to be a walk over for the UPND because the Zambian people appreciated its achievements.
He said contrary to what the opposition were insinuating, the UPND were on course and people were happy with its developmental agenda.
