M’MEMBE IS BEING DISHONEST ON THE BAROTSE ISSUE – SIMUUWE

SOCIALIST Party (SP) president Fred M’membe is being insincere on the Barotseland issue, according to Mark Simuuwe.

Dr M’membe recently said President Hakainde Hichilema has no moral and intellectual capacity to resolve the Barotse issue.

He said the only solution to the Barotseland issue was to democratize the governance of the country fully and allow people to govern their areas, which he promised to do if voted into office.

But Mr. Simuuwe said Dr. M’membe was not being honest with himself.

“This is the same Fred who influenced President Michael Sata to promise the people of Western Province but later did a “donchikubeba” on them. He wants to use the same deceit on the people of Western Province,” he said.

He added that Dr. M’membe was trying to agitate for the overthrow of the Constitution by calling for Western to have a Ngambela as minister.

Meanwhile, Mr. Simuuwe accused Dr. M’membe of aiding the Patriotic Front (PF) to run down the country’s economy.

“What Fred does not realize is that citizens know that it was him and the PF who ran down the economy after overborrowing and left the country growing in negatives at -2 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with high inflation, corruption, illegal Mukula exports, bloodshed, state sponsored terrorism, nepotism and ethnic cleansing,” he said.

He said among so much mess that Dr. M’membe and the PF left the country in, he had chosen hate speech, propaganda, division and lies as campaign messages for Socialist Party.

“Fred knows very well that he has nothing to offer to the people of Zambia and now believes dreaming and insults is the way to practice politics,” he said.
