AFRICAN Boxing Union (ABU) Bantamweight Champion David “Snipper” Mwale’s title challenger Martin Kouassi Klaklevi has arrived in the country from Benin.

Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotion (OQBP) promotions manager Christopher Malunga has confirmed the arrival of Klaklevi who touched down in the wee hours of this morning at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport ahead of the much-anticipated boxing bout set for the Government Complex this Saturday.

“We are thrilled to announce that Martin Kouassi Klaklevi from Benin, the renowned boxer scheduled to face off against David Snipper Mwale, has safely arrived in the country. Klaklevi touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at approximately 01:20 AM aboard Ethiopian Airways.

“Klaklevi is the official challenger to African Boxing Union (ABU) Bantamweight Champion David Snipper Mwale. The championship event is set to take place at the Government Complex on Saturday, 17th August 2024. He is currently residing at Mika Hotel in Kabulonga as he prepares for this highly anticipated bout,” Malunga said.

He further announced that OQBP will be hosting a press conference at the National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCOZ) at 11:00 hours, where Klaklevi and his team will be available to discuss the upcoming fight, training preparations, and answer any questions from the media.

“This press conference promises to provide exciting insights into what fans can expect from this electrifying matchup. We look forward to your presence at the press conference,” he said.

Klaklevi boasts of seven matches under his belt with six wins via technical knockouts and only one loss to Nigerian boxer Tunde Olojede via a majority decision.
