IT will not be the last time they will arrest me because I will continue to voice out for Zambians until we triumph and there is giving up, Socialist Party President Fred M’membe has charged.
Speaking to The Scoop, Dr. M’membe said even if he was to be arrested 10 times, it would not make him give up on standing for solidarity and truth adding that he will continue to keep his spirit high for a better Zambia.
“We will not give up. We will not lose hope because the Socialist movement is getting stronger and we are stronger together. Those trying to set us apart have failed and they will not succeed because come 2026, the Socialist party will bring change and better the country’s economy,” he said.
He alleged that the New Dawn Government had no plan to fix Zambia adding that the struggle for a better Zambia had to be continued.
“The most important thing is that the party is alive and so, we must continue to struggle if we are to win. What we are promoting and defending in our country will one day triumph, whether I will be alive or dead. They must know that our vision for Zambia is unstoppable and so long they continue with this unfairness, our struggle will continue till we triumph,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. M’membe has accused Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of State House, Mr. Fanwell Siandenge of being a danger to the presidency and the country.
“We say this without any grain of malice or ill intention because it is based on an exhaustive assessment of activities and events that have taken place in the country regarding my arrest and subsequent detention. All of which were totally unnecessary and ill-advised. Remove Mr. Siandenge and save yourself from shame.
“It requires very little effort for anybody to notice that there is chaos in the Zambia Police high command and the main culprit in all this is Mr Siandenge himself. It is evident that Mr Siandenge is doing exactly what he wants which is most unfortunate and this is what resulted in the unprecedented blunders, recklessness and administrative chaos we witnessed in the police high command in the last two days,” he alleged.
He also said the delayed capitalisation of the two mining operations had been painful for the people of Copperbelt.
“Statements to the effect that the delay is because the Government wants to safeguard the interests of Zambians are hollow and deceitful because it is very clear that the UPND Government had no plans to fix any challenges Zambia was facing before they were elected and now the problems have grown bigger,” he said.
